Just back from vacation in Brasil.

We started in Amazonas.
This is "o encontro das águas", two different types of rivers meet but don't mix for several kilometers due to a difference in temperature and salinity.
A lovely day on the Rio Negro

Our crazy guide caught a nice little crocodile, or is it an alligator? I never remeber what is the difference. But it's important to know as one of them attack by charging straight forward and the other tries to slap you with it's tail and head from the side...

The sloth. What a woderful anaimal. It's a mystery how it survives as a species. It's completely defenceless and have bad hearing, smell and eyesight. But look at that smile.

And then I caught this Anaconda - or rather - again, our crazy guide caught it. Amazing creature.

This is a forest that it flooded by the river part of the year. It's really cool with the tree tops sticking up of the river. We had to navigate between them.

Later we went to Rio de Janeiro.
And behold, it seems Brasil is making progress in the equality of the sexes. The ad for deodorant says "Para o novo homem", meaning "For the new man". It shows a very cool, sporty, busy guy speaking in his mobile and with a newspaper in his other hand with a baby on the back.
We visited a strange cone shaped cathedral built in concreate.
It looks like the photo is taken from an extreme "frog perspective", but it's an lillusion due to the fact that the building is conical.
A silhoutte of a statue inside the church.

Christ Redentor on Corcovado. Unfortunately, whne we made it up to the top, it was even more cloudy. We couldn't even see the head of Jesus, much less anything of the wonderful view over Rio...
